WARDOGS Essential Tips and Tricks — Eight Habits That Pay

Published 2026-09-17Updated 2026-09-195 min read

Ammo types, loose-round refills, mark timing, free medkits, tower codes and more — the small WARDOGS habits that add up to winning matches.

Small habits, compounding returns — the stuff the tutorial never mentions.

1. Pick Ammunition Like You Mean It

  • AP rounds for armored enemies — the heavier the plates, the more they matter.
  • FMJ is the universal default when you can't tell what the enemy wears.
  • Hollow point only for unarmored targets; against armor it's a waste of money.

Check the vendor's stock, then check what the enemy is wearing.

2. Buy Loose Ammo, Refill With C

Loose rounds are cheaper and vanish when used instead of hogging backpack slots. Press C to auto-fill your empty magazines — it loads left to right — and top all your mags before every fight.

3. Marks Are a Timer

A binocular mark pays you only if the kill happens shortly after the mark. Sit high — towers are ideal — and mark the flanks and forest treelines where snipers and roamers cross. Steady traffic, steady income.

4. Two or Three Bandage Groups, Always

One bandage group is a rookie mistake. They pay for themselves by healing teammates (Medic XP included), and the free self-resuscitator sits right beside them at the vendor — it revives you faster than waiting on a stranger's mercy.

5. Squads Are Free Armor

Squad voice is private, squadmates ping on your minimap, and a downed friend is a rescue you can actually find. Even solo players should join a squad on spawn.

6. Loot the Rich

Killing a veteran in expensive armor and ignoring his body is leaving the best loot in the game on the floor. Scan for danger first, then strip the corpse and wear his kit for free.

7. Towers Control the Hotzone

Capturing towers yields codes; enter the codes at your controlled tower and the hotzone migrates toward it, putting your whole team inside the double-reward area. The drill that also pulls the zone arrives by helicopter and burns fuel while it runs — defend both, and wall the tower in. The full playbook is in how to win more.

8. Rebuy, Don't Rebuild

After respawning, use the vendor's repurchase option (bottom-left) to buy back your last loadout in one click. Customization can wait; momentum can't.
