WARDOGS Helicopter Flying Guide — Practice, Readouts and Safe Landings

Fly WARDOGS helicopters without going broke: range practice, the parachute habit, the flight readout panel, and landing discipline.

Helicopters have the highest skill floor in WARDOGS and the highest ceiling: one good transport pilot pays for the whole team. These habits keep your expensive airframe in one piece.
Practice in the Range First
The training range isn't just for guns — helicopters fly there too. Never learn on a purchased airframe in a live match: every crash is your own money on fire. Fly the range until takeoffs, transits and landings are boring, then go earn.
Cycle the Control Presets
WARDOGS ships multiple helicopter control schemes, switchable any time in settings. Test them all in the range — including the community keyboard remap and the mouse rotor option — and lock in the one your hands agree with. Sensitivity changes cost nothing in the range and everything in combat.
Always Pack a Parachute
Even pilots — especially pilots. When the airframe takes a fatal hit, the parachute turns your death into a survivable inconvenience: you keep the bankroll, the level, and the chance to buy another helicopter this match.
Trust the Readout, Not Your Eyes
The flight panel along the bottom of the HUD shows attitude, heading and speed in real time. Landing judgments made by eyeball alone kill more helicopters than enemies do — when you come into a landing, the speed number is the truth, not how it looks out the window.
Landing Is the Whole Game
- Reduce speed early; even slight overspeed at touchdown damages the airframe — sometimes it's a warning, sometimes it's a fireball.
- Practice both flat-field landings and awkward terrain landings until neither scares you.
- Set your sensitivities before the match, not during it.
Fly carefully, deliver constantly, and the transport loop in support fast leveling turns your pilot hours into the richest income stream in the game.
