WARDOGS FOB Uses Explained — Emplacements, Super-FOBs and the Derrick

What WARDOGS FOBs are actually for: AA, mortars and drones with their ammo costs, the super-FOB around the revive truck, and the hotzone-pulling oil derrick.

From AA nests to hotzone magnets — what the box is really for.

Fortifications are only half the story. FOBs exist to host the heavy stuff — the emplacements and structures that win maps.

Emplacement Economics

Build FOBs to host mortars, anti-air and drones without needing a fortress around them — the classic pattern is an AA or drone nest guarding the main base, or a fuel and repair station for your tanks. What each one costs per use:

  • Anti-air: 50 rounds of ammo per engagement, first magazine free with construction.
  • Mortar: 100 rounds of ammo per shot, three free shells included.
  • Drone: 900 machine parts and $5,000 per strike — see the Devilfish guide.

The Super-FOB and the Revive Truck

When your team banks 20 points, a tracked revive vehicle spawns at HQ. Drive it into the control zone and park it — teammates who spawn on it pay the crew cash and XP, and everyone gets back into the fight instantly instead of walking 3 km from HQ.

The rules that make it work:

  • The truck only spawns players while stationary inside the zone.
  • Spawned players must select respawn at the base monitor, then they appear in the vehicle.
  • It must survive. A parked, hidden, walled revive truck is the spine of a late-match defense — which is exactly why the super-FOB layout exists: walls and wire built around the truck, derricks dispersed, sight lines cleared.

Every teammate spawning from the truck earns you money and XP. Defend the box, and it pays rent.

The Oil Derrick — The Hotzone Magnet

The endgame structure. Built with the Large Hammer on a super-FOB, fueled and activated, the oil derrick pulls the hotzone toward your base and holds it there until its fuel runs out — the strongest map-control tool in WARDOGS.

  • One derrick holds 6,000 fuel; a pallet carries 1,800, so stock three or four pallets before you activate it.
  • Derricks have a cooldown — build several and run them in rotation to pin the hotzone permanently.
  • A super-FOB with the truck parked and the derrick running turns the map's scoring zone into your fortress's front yard.
