WARDOGS How to Team Up — Squad Codes Explained

The correct way to play WARDOGS with friends: create a squad in the social menu, share the code, and queue together.

One social menu, one code, one squad that actually lands in the same match.

Don't queue separately and hope matchmaking throws you together — in WARDOGS it almost never does. Squads are built in the lobby social menu, before you queue.

Creating and Joining a Squad

  1. Open the Social menu in the main lobby.
  2. Choose Create Squad — the game generates a squad code.
  3. Share the code with your friends.
  4. Friends open the Social menu, enter the code, and join.
  5. Once everyone is in, queue as a unit.

You can also use Join Squad to enter a public squad in your lobby, or accept a direct invite from the prompt when it appears. Without a code, public squads are the only option.

The Classic Failure Modes

  • Typo the code, join nothing. One wrong character and the join fails silently. The fix: the squad leader deletes the squad and generates a fresh code rather than re-reading the old one aloud.
  • Queue early, split the party. During busy periods, queuing before your whole squad has joined can split players into different matches. Wait for the full roster, then queue once.
  • Expecting a saved party. Squads dissolve when the match or session ends; there is no persistent premade lobby yet in Early Access.

After You Land

In-match, squads are temporary by design: one of you creates it via ESC, everyone joins, and the leader can lock it against walk-ins. Squadmates show gold markers on your map. The mechanics are identical in Early Access — the full flow, including in-match invite codes, is in our invite friends guide.
