WARDOGS Release Date, Platforms and Editions — Wiki & Guide

When WARDOGS launched on Steam, what the Early Access build includes, who makes it, and which editions you can buy.

WARDOGS unlocked on Steam at midnight going into September 11, 2026 (Singapore time) — the evening of September 10 in Western regions — with pre-load going live from September 9 alongside the Season 1 build. There is no console version and no separate launcher — everything runs through Steam.
Who Makes WARDOGS
- Developer: Bulkhead — the UK studio previously behind Battalion 1944 and The Turing Test.
- Publisher: Team17 — the same label that carries Hell Let Loose and the Worms franchise.
That pedigree shows. WARDOGS borrows the large-scale, communication-heavy sandbox DNA of titles like Squad and Hell Let Loose, then wraps it in an economy where every life costs money.
What Launch Means Here: Early Access
The game is sold as an Early Access title in its Season 1 phase. In practice that means:
- The core loop is complete: three factions fight over a control zone, towers, forward operating bases and a moving hotzone to score points.
- Content is still being filled in — weapons, maps and vehicles continue to expand between seasons.
- Balance moves fast. Season 1 already rescaled the XP curve, repriced several vendors and moved key unlock levels (see our Season 1 progression breakdown).
- The developer has stated the price will rise in steps as the game grows, so Early Access pricing is the cheapest entry point it will ever have.
Editions
| Edition | Price (CN region) | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | ¥149 | The full Early Access build, nothing gated |
| Supporter Edition | ¥186 | Cosmetic supporter items, plus a head start on in-match currency |
Beyond the optional Supporter pack there is no other monetization — no battle pass selling power, no purchasable gear. Every match-made advantage is bought with in-match cash that everyone earns the same way.
Languages and Access
WARDOGS ships with Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese and more, and buying it on any regional Steam store works the same way — search "WARDOGS" in the store and the Standard or Supporter edition appears, no region tricks required.
Bottom Line
Launched, live, and one season deep. If you want the current state of the sandbox before spending money, our should you buy guide lays out who it fits and who should wait.
