WARDOGS Explosives Cheat Sheet — C4, IED, RPG and MAAWS Chart
Published 2026-09-214 min read
How many explosives it takes to breach every WARDOGS structure: C4, IED, RPG-7, MAAWS, MGL-40 and M67 counts for doors, HESCO walls, FOBs and more.

Guessing explosive counts gets defenders killed. This cheat sheet consolidates the community-tested numbers (compiled from the Steam "Explosives Cheat Sheet" guide by crzyp, checked September 21, 2026) for every placeable explosive in WARDOGS.
Explosives Needed to Destroy Structures
| Structure | C4 | IED | RPG-7 | MAAWS | MGL-40 | M67 Frag |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Door | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 3 |
| Gate | 1 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 25 | ~25 |
| HESCO Wall (Large) | 4 | 2 | 7 | 8 | 15 | ~10 |
| HESCO Wall (Small) | 2 | 1 | 4 | 4 | 12 | 6–7 |
| Bremer Wall | 7 | 5 | 12 | 12 | 50 | ~50 |
| Sandbags | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 7 | ~7 |
| Barbed Wire | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 2 |
| Hedgehog | 6 | 3 | 8 | 9 | 100 | ~100 |
| L81 Mortar | 3 | 2 | 4 | 4 | 34 | 34 |
| Stingray | 3 | 2 | 4 | 4 | 34 | 34 |
| Vanguard CIWS | 3 | 1 | 7 | 7 | 50 | 50 |
| Talon 9K-SAM | 1 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 34 | 34 |
| Forward Operating Base | 5 | 1 | 6 | 6 | 50 | 50 |
| Drill Rig | 2 | 1 | — | — | — | — |
Frag grenade numbers are estimates — placement is unreliable, and frags plus the MGL-40 should never be your plan for breaking into a base anyway.
What to Actually Bring
- C4 is the default breach tool. It's lighter than launchers ammo, throwable, and stacks more per bag slot. Two C4 open a small HESCO wall; five kill a whole FOB.
- IED only for demolition runs. One IED fully destroys a FOB or drill rig — bring it when the goal is razing the objective, not slipping inside.
- Halligan Bar for door chains. On apartment FOBs with multiple doors between entrance and objective, the breaching tool beats burning explosives on every door.
Vehicle Damage Quick Facts
- All vehicle damage lives in the engine, not the health bar — the bar lies about location. Most vehicles take max damage from the front; the L2A6 tank and SPH-2 artillery carry the engine in the rear.
- One charge to a tank's engine deck rear disables it, whether from C4, IED, RPG or MAAWS.
- Tires and tracks have separate health bars — shoot them to slow vehicles, not to kill them. Track damage barely touches main health.
- L2A6 front armor shrugs off RPGs; it takes MAAWS rockets (two to destroy) to punch it.
- AT mines destroy any vehicle that rolls over them in one hit — except tanks, which only burn if they reverse onto the mine and skip repairs.
- Launcher breakpoints from community testing: MAAWS one-shots a Humvee from side or front and can kill a tank in one; RPG needs three on a Humvee, four on tank weak spots, three on drill rigs.
